Sponsored Youth

The Kiwanis Club of Golden sponsors three youth organizations in the city of Golden: the Colorado School of Mines Circle K chapter, the Golden High School Key Club, and Boy Scout Troop 130.  Our commitment to these organizations extends beyond financial support.  Kiwanis members serve as advisors and actively participate in projects organized by these youth groups.

Bell Middle School Builders Club

The Builders Club of Bell Middle School is a service organization that emphasizes building leadership qualities in middle school students through experiences in voluntary community service. Some of their recent undertakings include establishing a school recycling program, participating in bake sales to raise money for needy families, and helping the Golden Kiwanis Club with a variety of service projects. The Club is an excellent opportunity for young people who are interested in building a better world for themselves and others.  The Bell Middle School chapter has been supported by our Kiwanis Club since 2002..  For more information on Builders Club, visit the International web site.

Boy Scout Troop 22

Troop 22 is a cutting edge partnership between the Denver Area BSA Council and the Kiwanis Club of Golden.   The program, which consists of a troop and venture crew within the Lookout Mountain Youth Services facility, is unique in the Rocky Mountain Region.  Under this partnership, the Kiwanis club acts as the chartering organization and financial supporter of the troop, while the Scouting Professionals are responsible for planning and administering the program within the facility.

Boy Scout Troop 130

Troop 130 is one of the largest and most active troops in the Denver Metro Area.  Producing an average of 8 Eagle Scouts annually, Troop 130 has been sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Golden and chartered by the First United Methodist Church of Golden since 1962.  More information on scouting is available from the Boy Scouts of America and the Gateway District.

Troop 130 has a "Scout" program, for boys ages 11-14 years, and a coed "Venturing" program. for ages 14-20 years.  The focus is skill, ethics, leadership, adventure, fun, challenge, recognition, and fellowship in an outdoor setting.   We believe that Character Counts.
